Exploring Akagera National Park and its Lodges in Rwanda

Exploring Akagera National Park and its Lodges in Rwanda doesn’t have to be stressful! Our recent guests Attiya and Wilhelm wanted to visit and explore Akagera National Park and stay in one of its Lodges. Would be their first visit, and we at Huza Gateway made sure they were going to. As part of our service, we organized logistics on their behalf to ensure a perfect trip. All were and we facilitated payment for Akagera National Park entry fees, the hotel, and safaris.

Before their trip, we discussed what they wanted to experience in the park and then customized their trip to suit their interest. Exploring Akagera National Park and Its Lodges in Rwanda was made more special by our experienced guide Bosco who made sure they did not miss any of the park’s sights. Our guests went on a sunset boat ride on their first day and had Big Five encounters. They stayed at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge, the lodge most frequented by our guests.

Our guide is ready to Explore Akagera National Park and its Lodges

To start their journey

Huza Gateway guide Bosco picked up our guests from their residences in the morning and drove them to the park. On their way, they stopped at Bashana, also known as Imigongo, a popular rest stop for shopping for arts and crafts, as well as for refreshments.

There is just 1 hour between Bashana and Akagera National Park. At the park entrance, Bosco took care of the park formalities and payments before proceeding to Akagera Game Lodge.

The Akagera Game Lodge check-in was smooth as the hotel was ready and waiting for them based on our communication.
Their first adventure in Akagera National Park was the sunset boat ride at Ihema Lake. It is a magical experience we always make happen for our guests! The lake is home to several bird species, hippos, and crocodiles. Sometimes, guests are lucky and come across elephants and primate species on the shores.

On their second day, our Huza Gateway guests enjoyed a full-day game drive to explore the different areas of the park. Akagera National Park is the only park in Rwanda that has the Big Five. With the experience from our guide Bosco, our guests saw all the Big Five, including the leopard!
